Step into a galaxy of imagination and aviation at our annual The Force Takes Flight Open Cockpit Day! This fan-favorite event combines hands-on aircraft access with the creativity of one of the world’s most iconic science-fiction universes.
Guests will have the rare opportunity to explore select aircraft up close, climb inside, ask questions, and experience what it’s like to sit in the cockpit, while interacting with members of the Central California Garrison of the 501st Legion, a nonprofit costuming club known for its screen-accurate recreations inspired by the beloved space saga.
The Central California Garrison of the 501st Legion is a fan-based costuming organization and is not affiliated with or representing Lucasfilm or Disney. All appearances are by club members in costume, and all photos used for promotion feature real participants at museum events, never film or promotional imagery.
Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, a sci-fi fan, or just looking for a unique family experience, this special open cockpit day offers unforgettable photo opportunities, interactive exhibits, and a celebration of imagination grounded in real-world flight.
